Our Process

Pure Hands By Ankuri is a social entrepreneurship created with the sole aim of creating novel commercial strategies to maximize improvements in financial, social and environmental well-being of the rural communities of the area. It is based at the Craft Centre, a training and business centre located near Dehradun at ANKURI’s home base. From here we create and refine our designs, and store our wool and knitting supplies to distribute to the village women trained by Ankuri.

As the local terrain is hilly and mountainous, accessibility and transport to local villages is difficult. We have overcome this by periodically supplying women with yarn and other necessities so that they can knit in the comfort of their own homes. This allows them the flexibility to remain at home and look after their families while being able to generate an income.

Once a garment is made and collected, we sell them through local craft fairs and online. As we grow, we are looking to expand our network. If you are interested in carrying our products, send us a message and we would love to start a conversation.
